"Highest Energy Cosmic Rays"

Paul Frampton
University of North Carolina

Abstract:

The status of the highest energy cosmic rays will be briefly reviewed. Their possible origin from decay of a superheavy particle (X) through a Z burst mechanism is discussed. The microscopic model building which emphasizes the super-longevity of X will be illustrated.
