"Faster-Than-Light Travel and the Weak Energy Condition"
Ken Olum
Tufts University
Abstract:
I propose a definition for faster-than-light travel, roughly that
following a particular path in spacetime allows one to travel more
quickly than one could on nearby paths. With this definition, I prove
that the existence of faster than light travel requires weak energy
condition violation.
