"Primordial Magnetic Fields and CP Violation in the Sky"

Tanmay Vachaspati
Case Western Reserve University

Abstract:

Electroweak baryogenesis proceeds via changes in the non-Abelian Chern-Simons number. It is argued that these changes generate a primordial magnetic field which is left-handed everywhere, thus providing a CP violating signature in the sky. The characteristics of the magnetic field will be derived and the prospects for its observation will be discussed.
