"Opening the Ultra High Energy Cosmic Ray Window"

Pasquale Blasi
Fermilab

Abstract:

While several arguments can be proposed against the presence of particles with energy in excess of 3-5 x 1019 eV in the cosmic ray spectrum, these particles are actually observed and their origin seeks for an explanation. I will discuss the current status of this research, with particular attention to some recent theoretical results and the way these results can be tested with present and future experiments.
